Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Would a fixed 4 mm slicer and separate dough blade fit a seven-cup historical package?
The exact DLC-2007N page and booklet list a 4 mm slicer, medium shredder and separate dough blade, with manual-specific limits of four cups flour for bread dough and three cups for pizza dough. This identity is retained for comparison only: CPSC recall 17-050 covers DLC-2007-prefix machines fitted with the specified four-rivet blade, and an individual unit’s blade/remedy is unknown. The finder never recommends this reference-only model.
Explore this need in the finder →Is an older DLC-2007N a purchase candidate if I opt into earlier products?
No. The model prefix appears in the CPSC recall notice for units with a specified riveted blade. The unit-level blade and remedy status are not determined here, so the model is excluded whether or not earlier models are included. Ask Cuisinart to check a particular machine before use.
Explore this need in the finder →Could I use the wide tube to reduce pre-cutting?
The page describes a one-piece Supreme wide-mouth cover and separate large/small pushers; that is a documented assembly, not a guarantee that every whole item fits. The DLC-2007N remains a recall-family reference and is not a buying match.
Explore this need in the finder →What flour amount does the linked booklet give for its dough blade?
The DLC-2007N booklet lists up to four cups all-purpose flour for bread dough and three cups for pizza dough. These task limits are not a reason to purchase or operate a used unit before confirming its recall remedy.
Explore this need in the finder →A seven-cup Prep 7 whose model number matters
The Cuisinart DLC-2007N is a white, discontinued Prep 7 food processor with a seven-cup bowl. Its exact U.S. page describes a one-piece Supreme wide-mouth feed cover, touchpad On/Pulse/Off controls, separate large and small pushers, a 4 mm slicing disc, a medium shredding disc, a chopping/mixing blade and a dough blade. The official page says the machine is out of stock and gives a ten-year motor and three-year overall limited warranty. This is a clear historical package identity, but not a present-day availability claim.
More importantly, CPSC recall 17-050 names food processors with model numbers beginning DLC-2007 when equipped with the specified four-rivet blade. The recall notice directs affected owners to stop using the blade and contact Cuisinart for a free replacement. The exact retail listing and booklet do not identify the blade on an individual used machine or establish that the remedy was completed. A used DLC-2007N is therefore excluded from purchase recommendations. A shopper's choice to include earlier products cannot override that uncertainty; owners should confirm the blade and remedy directly with Cuisinart rather than trust a broad family label, image, seller statement or this review.
Capacity has several meanings
The seven-cup figure describes the bowl, not a universal batch amount. The linked 48-page DLC-2007N booklet gives a separate task table: as many as four cups of flour for bread dough (about two one-pound loaves), three cups of flour for pizza dough, and two to three cups of nuts for nut butter. Those maxima apply to specific recipes and should not be collapsed into a generic capacity claim. The manual also shows that the package's dedicated dough blade is a different piece from the chopping/mixing blade. If kneading with a dedicated tool is an essential requirement, this exact package documents one; whether that feature matters does not remove the recall exclusion.
The fixed 4 mm slicer and medium shredder make a narrower set than a package with multiple reversible slice/shred discs. This machine provides no documented adjustable thickness control, and the reviewed sources do not identify a second fine shredding disc. The wide feed cover is useful for reducing some pre-cutting, but whole-item fit depends on size and shape, and the small and large pushers remain part of the feeding routine. There is no separate continuous-feed attachment listed in the included package.
Assembly, operation and cleanup
Touchpad On, Pulse and Off controls keep operation simple: continuous work uses On and brief, controlled bursts use Pulse. The booklet emphasizes correct lid and bowl alignment, use of the pusher for feed-tube work, and unplugging before handling sharp parts. The manual says removable parts are top-rack dishwasher-safe; that is a cleanup convenience, not an invitation to put the motor base in water. Store the separate blades and discs safely, especially if children share the kitchen.
Cuisinart gives no dimensions on the reviewed page/material used for this exact DLC-2007N, so it is not possible to establish cabinet clearance from the seven-cup rating. Measure the actual machine and allow room to lift the feed cover and pusher. No motor-wattage or noise figure was confirmed. The machine's listed warranty is historical manufacturer copy; the product is discontinued/out of stock, and a used unit's remaining coverage cannot be inferred.
How it differs from related Cuisinart models
DLC-2007N shares a Prep 7 name and broad layout with the separately coded DLC-2007, but the two exact pages and package records are kept distinct. Similar title and bowl size are not evidence that every accessory, manual, warranty or revision is the same. A current FP-7 is a further different seven-cup package: it has two reversible discs and one universal blade, while DLC-2007N lists a fixed 4 mm slicer, medium shredder and separate dough blade. Choosing by capacity alone obscures what is actually in the box.
This is a model-identification review, not a recommendation to seek an older machine. It uses the exact DLC-2007N U.S. page, the directly linked DLC-2007N booklet, the CPSC notice and the manufacturer-linked exact image. The recall scope is deliberately stated as conditional on the specified riveted blade; no claim is made that every surviving unit is affected, has been repaired, or is safe. Because the individual-unit bridge remains unknown, the finder excludes this code from purchases and sends a would-be owner to the manufacturer for confirmation. No hands-on performance, durability or measured output is claimed.

Compare exact tools and manual limits: Cuisinart Mini-Prep Plus DLC-2A and DLC-4CHB, CCH-3, ECH-4SV and MCH-4 Chop/Grind batches; Hamilton Beach 70450 bowl and reversible-disc tasks; the 70510’s documented bowl-based smoothie method and slicing disc; FP-5 and FP-7 bowls; the FP-9CF continuous-feed setup; KitchenAid choppers; and larger processors. Hamilton Beach 70585 adds a 14-cup bowl, nested 4-cup chop/puree bowl, a dough blade for up to 4 cups flour and top-rack care; compare its separate task caps before batch prep. For a 10-cup bowl with a lid-operated scraper, compare the Hamilton Beach 70730J; its scraper is limited to blade work, and the manual rules out kneading dough, ice crushing and grinding. Hamilton Beach 70723G adds a 10-cup Stack & Snap package with a two-minute manual motor-on limit; it has no dough blade or scraper. The Hamilton Beach 70740G offers an eight-cup bowl with a reversible disc; its manual limits produce and cheese batches below the headline bowl size and rules out dough, ice-crushing and dry-grinding. The white 70733 adds a page-listed 10-cup scraper package, but its linked manual labels 70730/70731; do not carry those operating limits over. Compare it only for exact page-backed tools and keep top-rack, scraper/disc compatibility and task limits unknown. Breville adds two nine-cup choices: the Sous Chef 9 BFP610 has an adjustable slicer and dough blade without a standard-box dicing grid, while the Paradice 9 BFP638 includes a half-inch dicing kit. Compare the two Breville nine-cup packages by tool list, manual care and listed body height. Compare Breville’s current Paradice 12 BFP738 and Paradice 16 BFP838 by their distinct bowl sizes, dicing grids, included mini bowl and fry disc in the Paradice 12-versus-16 guide. Compare the BFP800 Pro, BFP810 and BFP820 Peel & Dice by their separate packages in the Sous Chef 16 family guide: the included grid, peeler and mini-bowl details change the answer. Ninja TotalCrush IQ801BK is a three-vessel hybrid with one 8-cup processor bowl, a separate 72-ounce pitcher and a separate 24-ounce tumbler; compare its chopping/dough tool list with CrushBOSS slice/shred/crinkle and dicing packages. Braun EasyPrep package choices also differ: FP3101BK lists one fixed 4 mm reversible slicing/grating disc; FP3211SI lists fixed 2 mm and 4 mm discs plus a dough tool; CH3012BK is the small chopper with a listed mayonnaise accessory and separate 0.5 L working-capacity figure. Vitamix SmartPrep systems combine an Ascent blender with a separate SELF-DETECT processor attachment: X2 has three blender programs, X4 itemizes julienne and veggie-stick discs, and X5 lists ten blender programs but the standard processor discs. X5 Deluxe adds a blending cup-and-bowl kit, not a second processor bowl. The attachment manual sets 12 cups dry, 8 wet and a three-minute continuous-use ceiling. Oster adds a white six-cup blender and three-cup processor attachment in SAP 2197995; compare that format with the glass-jar 6878 chopper and the ten-cup 2142993 bowl processor in the Oster package guide. Proctor Silex has two earlier sizes worth distinguishing: the 72706 is a three-cup mini processor with an oil-dispenser lid and small-quantity adjuster, while the 70810 is a nine-cup Quick Clean model with a reversible slice/shred disc. Both exact pages say No Longer Available; their manuals do not support every task a larger bowl might suggest.
