Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Does the KFP0719 Plus include a dough blade for small yeast-dough work?
Yes. Its exact package includes a dough blade; the manual advises no more than 3 cups (710 mL) flour for best results. This is not an unlimited dough capacity claim.
Explore this need in the finder →Does KFP0719 include a separate thick-slicing disc?
Yes. The exact US package lists a separate thick-slicing disc as well as the reversible medium slicing/shredding disc.
Explore this need in the finder →Will this package supply a whisk or refrigerator-storage lid if either is essential?
Neither is listed with KFP0719; KFP0921 is the reviewed 9-cup KitchenAid package with both a whisk and separate refrigerator lid.
Explore this need in the finder →Is fine-to-medium shredding documented for the reversible disc?
Yes. The KFP0719 manual’s chart describes fine-to-medium shredding.
Explore this need in the finder →The Plus package earns its name with two extra tools
The KitchenAid KFP0719 is a 7-cup (1.7 L) processor whose package differs from the standard KFP0718 in ways you can name before buying: it adds a separate thick-slicing disc and a dough blade. Both models include the same multipurpose blade and reversible medium slicing/shredding disc, with a 2-in-1 feed tube and a latched bowl cover. The KFP0719's value is therefore not a larger bowl; it is having those additional tools in the box when your usual prep actually calls for them. The KFP0718 manual already lists kneading with its multipurpose blade, so the Plus distinction is a dedicated dough blade, not a claim that the standard model cannot knead.
The reversible disc handles a slicing face and a shredding face. KitchenAid's KFP0719 manual chart describes the shred as fine-to-medium. The second disc supplies a separate thick slice; it does not turn the reversible disc into an adjustable slicer. If you mainly chop vegetables, sauces or crumbs, the standard KFP0718 tool set may cover your regular work with fewer parts to wash. If you also make occasional yeast dough or deliberately want a thicker slice, this Plus package has the more useful arrangement.
What kneading means here—and where it stops
The supplied dough blade is a real difference from KFP0718, but the manual gives a modest ceiling: for best results, do not knead recipes using more than 3 cups (710 mL) of flour. Its instructions have you pulse to mix dry ingredients, then use High when adding liquids. That makes KFP0719 a plausible tool for smaller batches of yeast dough, not a stand-in for a larger mixer or a promise that any dough recipe fits its bowl. The manufacturer's limit is more useful than guessing from the 7-cup capacity label.
The exact U.S. KFP0719ER product page lists the bowl, operating lid, multipurpose blade, reversible medium slicing/shredding disc, thick-slicing disc and dough blade. Black Matte KFP0719BM and Contour Silver KFP0719CU pages identify the same model line; the official parts list also puts KFP0719 color suffixes under one service family and identifies the shared use-and-care guide. The assessment keeps the current U.S. ER, BM and CU package family together; it does not infer a specific box or live offer from an unverified retailer suffix.
Decide whether those tools will earn their storage space
KitchenAid says the KFP0719 accessories nest inside the work bowl, and the exact product page describes a twist-free, one-click bowl assembly and a 2-in-1 feed tube. That can keep the set together, but the bowl must be emptied before it can process food. A separate dough blade and thick disc add handling, washing and safe-drying steps; if you would use the reversible disc alone, KFP0718 may be the tidier choice. If your repeated work needs three separate thin, medium and thick disc choices or more bowl volume, look at the 9-cup KFP0919 instead. KFP0919 also has a dough blade and a separate thick disc, but its package is not KFP0719's seven-cup configuration.
Neither KFP0719 nor KFP0718 lists a whisk, refrigerator lid, dicing kit or French-fry disc. If whisking cream or storing ingredients under a fitted bowl lid matters, the 9-cup KFP0921 addresses a different tool need. If grid dicing or a fry cut is essential, compare the reviewed 13-cup packages, where those accessories are supplied only with named configurations. Do not interpret “Plus” as implying the 9-cup Plus accessory set or any specialty tool that is absent from this exact list.
Use and care without overfilling
The manual says the processor runs at Low or High continuously; Off/Pulse gives short high-speed bursts while held. The bowl and lid must be locked in position before it operates. Use the pusher, keep hands out of the feed tube, switch off and unplug before changing tools, and wait for the blade or disc to stop before opening the cover. For a dense chop, the manual's guidance to leave working room in the bowl matters more than filling it to the rated capacity.
Removable parts are listed as top-rack dishwasher-safe. Avoid high-temperature dishwasher cycles, keep the bowl upright, dry pieces thoroughly and wipe the base rather than immersing it. The disc edges are sharp and the bowl is plastic, so lift the disc by its hub and avoid abrasive scrubbers. The exact appliance height and countertop dimensions were not verified in the U.S. specification text inspected here; measure the specific unit and leave clearance for the pusher and feed tube. This review follows manufacturer pages and manuals rather than ownership or independent tests, and treats any performance language on the product page as a manufacturer claim.

Compare exact tools and manual limits: Cuisinart Mini-Prep Plus DLC-2A and DLC-4CHB, CCH-3, ECH-4SV and MCH-4 Chop/Grind batches; Hamilton Beach 70450 bowl and reversible-disc tasks; the 70510’s documented bowl-based smoothie method and slicing disc; FP-5 and FP-7 bowls; the FP-9CF continuous-feed setup; KitchenAid choppers; and larger processors. Hamilton Beach 70585 adds a 14-cup bowl, nested 4-cup chop/puree bowl, a dough blade for up to 4 cups flour and top-rack care; compare its separate task caps before batch prep. For a 10-cup bowl with a lid-operated scraper, compare the Hamilton Beach 70730J; its scraper is limited to blade work, and the manual rules out kneading dough, ice crushing and grinding. Hamilton Beach 70723G adds a 10-cup Stack & Snap package with a two-minute manual motor-on limit; it has no dough blade or scraper. The Hamilton Beach 70740G offers an eight-cup bowl with a reversible disc; its manual limits produce and cheese batches below the headline bowl size and rules out dough, ice-crushing and dry-grinding. The white 70733 adds a page-listed 10-cup scraper package, but its linked manual labels 70730/70731; do not carry those operating limits over. Compare it only for exact page-backed tools and keep top-rack, scraper/disc compatibility and task limits unknown. Breville adds two nine-cup choices: the Sous Chef 9 BFP610 has an adjustable slicer and dough blade without a standard-box dicing grid, while the Paradice 9 BFP638 includes a half-inch dicing kit. Compare the two Breville nine-cup packages by tool list, manual care and listed body height. Compare Breville’s current Paradice 12 BFP738 and Paradice 16 BFP838 by their distinct bowl sizes, dicing grids, included mini bowl and fry disc in the Paradice 12-versus-16 guide. Compare the BFP800 Pro, BFP810 and BFP820 Peel & Dice by their separate packages in the Sous Chef 16 family guide: the included grid, peeler and mini-bowl details change the answer. Ninja TotalCrush IQ801BK is a three-vessel hybrid with one 8-cup processor bowl, a separate 72-ounce pitcher and a separate 24-ounce tumbler; compare its chopping/dough tool list with CrushBOSS slice/shred/crinkle and dicing packages. Braun EasyPrep package choices also differ: FP3101BK lists one fixed 4 mm reversible slicing/grating disc; FP3211SI lists fixed 2 mm and 4 mm discs plus a dough tool; CH3012BK is the small chopper with a listed mayonnaise accessory and separate 0.5 L working-capacity figure. Vitamix SmartPrep systems combine an Ascent blender with a separate SELF-DETECT processor attachment: X2 has three blender programs, X4 itemizes julienne and veggie-stick discs, and X5 lists ten blender programs but the standard processor discs. X5 Deluxe adds a blending cup-and-bowl kit, not a second processor bowl. The attachment manual sets 12 cups dry, 8 wet and a three-minute continuous-use ceiling. Oster adds a white six-cup blender and three-cup processor attachment in SAP 2197995; compare that format with the glass-jar 6878 chopper and the ten-cup 2142993 bowl processor in the Oster package guide. Proctor Silex has two earlier sizes worth distinguishing: the 72706 is a three-cup mini processor with an oil-dispenser lid and small-quantity adjuster, while the 70810 is a nine-cup Quick Clean model with a reversible slice/shred disc. Both exact pages say No Longer Available; their manuals do not support every task a larger bowl might suggest.
