Three-model standard-bowl comparison
Cuisinart FP-110, FP-130 and FP-1400: compare 10-, 13- and 14-cup plans
Choose the exact cutting setup before choosing a bowl number
Cuisinart's FP-110, FP-130 and FP-1400 all use a standard work bowl and a metal blade that their own manuals support for some yeast-dough work. Their important differences are the supplied disc arrangement, controls and task-specific batch limits. A 10-, 13- or 14-cup rating is not a general-purpose batch promise, and the product names do not tell you whether a dicing grid is in the box.
Fixed discs, adjustable slice settings, or both
The 10-cup FP-110 supplies two separate reversible discs: one fine and one medium. Each disc has a slicing face and a shredding face, so the standard set covers four fixed slice/shred tasks. FP-110 does not have the dial-adjustable slicer. The 13-cup FP-130 changes the arrangement: it has one adjustable slicing disc with 1–7 mm indicators and a separate reversible fine/medium shredding disc. The 14-cup FP-1400 also has a 1–7 mm adjustable slicer and a separate fine/medium reversible shredder. None of those listed discs is a grid-dicing kit or French-fry cutter. Cuisinart lists FP-130's dicing kit as an extra purchase, not an included item.
That makes FP-130 and FP-1400 closer in slicing configuration than their bowl ratings suggest. FP-130 is the smaller of those two bowl ratings and adds a Mix control; FP-1400 has the larger stated bowl and a simpler On and Off/Pulse control arrangement. Compare the exact review if a control format matters, and do not equate a greater number of control paddles with independently measured motor performance.
What the manuals allow in a real batch
The FP-110 booklet allows up to 10 cups sliced or shredded, 6 cups chopped produce, 7 cups thin liquid and 2.5 cups flour for yeast dough. For FP-130, the chart lists 12 cups sliced or shredded, 6 cups chopped produce, 9 cups thin liquid and 4 cups flour. FP-1400's manual lists 14 cups sliced or shredded, 6 cups chopped produce, 8.5 cups thin liquid and 5 cups flour. Other tasks also have their own limits, including purées, meat, cheese and nut butter. Use the printed row for your ingredient and recipe rather than choosing by the largest bowl label alone.
All three dough plans use the supplied multipurpose blade, not a separate dedicated kneading blade. Their manuals give model-specific flour limits and loading instructions. The FP-110 and FP-130 booklets call for Low during yeasted dough, and the FP-130 booklet also says to lock the medium pusher and add liquid slowly after the machine is running. The FP-1400 has its own instructions and separate control layout. A required dedicated dough attachment is not met just because a manual allows dough on a general-purpose blade.
Fit, cleanup and the accessories not in the standard box
Published body heights are 15.5 inches for FP-110, 16.1 inches for FP-130 and 16.63 inches for FP-1400. Leave space to raise the cover and remove the feed assembly; storage height is not the whole working clearance. The FP-110, FP-130 and FP-1400 manuals each specify top-rack dishwasher placement for removable parts, not the motor base. Each standard package includes a single main work bowl. FP-110 and FP-130 list a small work bowl separately; a replacement bowl on a parts listing is not an extra included bowl.
For regular grid-cut cubes, inspect the exact package code and included-tool list. FP-130's dicing kit is optional, while the base package's adjustable slicer still makes slices, not dice. If dicing must be in the same box, compare an exact reviewed configuration such as Cuisinart's discontinued FP-13DGM only as a reference—not as a current purchase recommendation—or a currently listed model whose exact package includes the desired grid. A purchase link for an accessory should not be mistaken for confirmation that it ships with the processor.
Three precise starting points
- FP-110 is the 10-cup choice when two fixed fine/medium reversible disc options matter more than an adjustable slicer.
- FP-130 is a 13-cup option with a 1–7 mm slicer, reversible fine/medium shredder, Mix/High/Low/Pulse controls and a four-cup flour ceiling.
- FP-1400 is the 14-cup option with the same published 1–7 mm slicing range, separate reversible fine/medium shredder and a five-cup flour maximum in its own manual.
These are document-based comparisons of exact U.S. product pages and linked manuals, not side-by-side performance tests. Read each model's own instructions before preparing dough or a large batch; task limits and care rules remain model-specific.
