A useful fit for

A practical fit for a household cook whose regular prep centers on chopping or puréeing with the multipurpose blade and occasional slicing or shredding with one reversible disc, without a need for an included dough blade or separate thick slicer.

The main tradeoff

The simpler package has fewer extra tools to store and wash, but it does not include KFP0719’s dough blade or separate thick-slicing disc. Height and footprint were not verified in the manufacturer material inspected.

A 7-cup processor for everyday chopping and disc work

The KitchenAid KFP0718 is the simpler of the two reviewed 7-cup packages. Its 7-cup (1.7 L) bowl comes with a multipurpose blade and one reversible medium slicing/shredding disc. That is enough equipment for routine chopping, mixing and puréeing with the blade, plus slicing or shredding with the disc. The manual's selection chart describes the shredding side as fine-to-medium; it also lists its multipurpose blade for kneading. The specific package difference is that KFP0718 does not include a separate dough blade, not that its manual rules out all dough work. The slicing side is one supplied cutting choice, not an adjustable-thickness system.

This package suits someone who expects to use the standard blade and reversible disc repeatedly and does not need an included dough blade or separate thick-slicing disc. The exact KFP0718 listing uses a twist-free, one-click bowl and latched lid, with a 2-in-1 feed tube and two-piece pusher. KitchenAid also says the accessories nest inside the bowl. Those are manufacturer design features, not a claim that every cleanup or assembly will be effortless in every kitchen.

Know what the KFP0718 box does and does not include

The exact manufacturer's included-items list names the 7-cup work bowl, lid, multipurpose blade and reversible medium slicing/shredding disc. It does not list a dough blade, thick-slicing disc, whisk, refrigerator-storage lid, dicing grid or French-fry disc. If one of those tools is essential, the capacity number cannot make up for its absence. Compare the KFP0719 Plus if you want a separate thick-slicing disc and dough blade in a similarly sized bowl.

The family is offered in different finishes, but finish pages do not create new cutting abilities. The current U.S. pages inspected identify KFP0718BM in Black Matte, KFP0718CU in Contour Silver, KFP0718ER in Empire Red and KFP0718WH in White; the package list and shared KFP0718 manual identify the same standard tool arrangement. An older Onyx Black service identity appears in the parts list, but it is not one of the four colors currently selected on the product page. Check the suffix on a used or refurbished offer rather than assuming that every listing includes additional attachments.

Use the bowl as a working limit, not a batch promise

Seven cups is the rated bowl size, not a universal one-batch recipe amount. The manual advises leaving room for ingredients to move: it describes thinner mixtures at roughly half to two-thirds full, thicker mixtures up to three-quarters full, liquids no more than two-thirds full, and chopping loads around one-third to one-half full. Those limits help explain why a 7-cup bowl can still call for smaller batches for a dense or sticky preparation. If one large batch is the priority, compare the 9-cup KFP0919 or a 13-cup model rather than treating the 7-cup label as usable volume in every recipe.

The two-piece pusher gives a small opening for slender pieces and a larger path for broader ingredients. Use the pusher rather than a hand, and prepare pieces to fit the feed tube. Low and High operate continuously; Off/Pulse makes short bursts and runs at high speed while held. The bowl and lid must be seated and latched for the motor to run, so assemble the selected blade or disc before closing the cover and wait for the cutting part to stop before opening it.

Cleanup and handling still take planning

The manual says removable parts are top-rack dishwasher-safe, while cautioning against high-temperature cycles, laying the bowl on its side and leaving parts wet after washing. Wipe the base and cord with a damp cloth; do not immerse the motor base. The reversible disc has exposed sharp edges, so lift it by its center hub and store it inside the bowl only after washing and thorough drying. The clear plastic bowl can be scratched or clouded by abrasive pads, and the manual notes that hard foods may scratch its inside surface. These care steps are more concrete than a general claim of easy cleanup.

The KFP0718 leaves fewer extra attachments to sort than the KFP0719. Its manual lists the multipurpose blade for kneading; the KFP0719 difference is a dedicated dough blade plus a separate thick-slicing disc. Choose KFP0718 for a repeat routine centered on everyday blade work and one reversible disc, unless the dedicated dough blade or second slice choice matters to you. Choose KFP0719 when its two extra tools would change your cooking, or a KFP0919 when a 9-cup bowl and three distinct thin, medium and thick disc choices matter more. Neither 7-cup package is a whisking or dicing machine, and none of these comparisons substitutes for checking the exact model suffix and contents on a specific offer.

The exact height and countertop footprint were not confirmed in the manufacturer material examined for this assessment. Measure your intended space and allow room for the lid, pusher, handle and safe feed-tube access rather than borrowing dimensions from a similar processor. This assessment is based on KitchenAid product pages, the KFP0718 manual and the official parts list; it does not claim ownership or independent performance testing.

Choose a tool set for your usual prep.

Compare exact tools and manual limits: Cuisinart Mini-Prep Plus DLC-2A and DLC-4CHB, CCH-3, ECH-4SV and MCH-4 Chop/Grind batches; Hamilton Beach 70450 bowl and reversible-disc tasks; the 70510’s documented bowl-based smoothie method and slicing disc; FP-5 and FP-7 bowls; the FP-9CF continuous-feed setup; KitchenAid choppers; and larger processors. Hamilton Beach 70585 adds a 14-cup bowl, nested 4-cup chop/puree bowl, a dough blade for up to 4 cups flour and top-rack care; compare its separate task caps before batch prep. For a 10-cup bowl with a lid-operated scraper, compare the Hamilton Beach 70730J; its scraper is limited to blade work, and the manual rules out kneading dough, ice crushing and grinding. Hamilton Beach 70723G adds a 10-cup Stack & Snap package with a two-minute manual motor-on limit; it has no dough blade or scraper. The Hamilton Beach 70740G offers an eight-cup bowl with a reversible disc; its manual limits produce and cheese batches below the headline bowl size and rules out dough, ice-crushing and dry-grinding. The white 70733 adds a page-listed 10-cup scraper package, but its linked manual labels 70730/70731; do not carry those operating limits over. Compare it only for exact page-backed tools and keep top-rack, scraper/disc compatibility and task limits unknown. Breville adds two nine-cup choices: the Sous Chef 9 BFP610 has an adjustable slicer and dough blade without a standard-box dicing grid, while the Paradice 9 BFP638 includes a half-inch dicing kit. Compare the two Breville nine-cup packages by tool list, manual care and listed body height. Compare Breville’s current Paradice 12 BFP738 and Paradice 16 BFP838 by their distinct bowl sizes, dicing grids, included mini bowl and fry disc in the Paradice 12-versus-16 guide. Compare the BFP800 Pro, BFP810 and BFP820 Peel & Dice by their separate packages in the Sous Chef 16 family guide: the included grid, peeler and mini-bowl details change the answer. Ninja TotalCrush IQ801BK is a three-vessel hybrid with one 8-cup processor bowl, a separate 72-ounce pitcher and a separate 24-ounce tumbler; compare its chopping/dough tool list with CrushBOSS slice/shred/crinkle and dicing packages. Braun EasyPrep package choices also differ: FP3101BK lists one fixed 4 mm reversible slicing/grating disc; FP3211SI lists fixed 2 mm and 4 mm discs plus a dough tool; CH3012BK is the small chopper with a listed mayonnaise accessory and separate 0.5 L working-capacity figure. Vitamix SmartPrep systems combine an Ascent blender with a separate SELF-DETECT processor attachment: X2 has three blender programs, X4 itemizes julienne and veggie-stick discs, and X5 lists ten blender programs but the standard processor discs. X5 Deluxe adds a blending cup-and-bowl kit, not a second processor bowl. The attachment manual sets 12 cups dry, 8 wet and a three-minute continuous-use ceiling. Oster adds a white six-cup blender and three-cup processor attachment in SAP 2197995; compare that format with the glass-jar 6878 chopper and the ten-cup 2142993 bowl processor in the Oster package guide. Proctor Silex has two earlier sizes worth distinguishing: the 72706 is a three-cup mini processor with an oil-dispenser lid and small-quantity adjuster, while the 70810 is a nine-cup Quick Clean model with a reversible slice/shred disc. Both exact pages say No Longer Available; their manuals do not support every task a larger bowl might suggest.
