Braun package comparison
Braun EasyPrep: FP3101BK, FP3211SI and CH3012BK compared
The three Braun EasyPrep models observed in the current U.S. processor/chopper category solve different prep problems. The two FP units are eight-cup bowl processors with feed-tube discs. The CH3012BK is a compact chopper whose page gives both a 4-cup model label and a separately stated 0.5 L working capacity. Compare the exact package tools first; the shared EasyPrep name does not make them interchangeable.
FP3101BK: one fixed 4 mm disc
The black FP3101BK package lists an eight-cup bowl, 550 W motor, two speeds plus pulse, a knife blade, one reversible 4 mm slicing/grating disc, spatula and power base. It is the simpler of the two bowl processors when one fixed disc thickness covers your recurring slicing and grating. It does not list a dough tool, second fixed disc, dicing grid, French-fry disc, whisk or second bowl. The 550 W figure is a maker specification, not a measured performance result.
FP3211SI: a second disc and a dough accessory
The silver FP3211SI also has an eight-cup rating, but its page lists two fixed reversible discs: 2 mm and 4 mm. It also lists a dedicated dough tool, alongside the knife blade, spatula and base. These additions make the functional package different, even though the headline bowl size is the same. The exact page does not state motor wattage; neither it nor the available official support listing provides a manual-based dough amount, continuous-on ceiling or care schedule. An included dough tool proves the tool is in the package, not a flour maximum.
CH3012BK: small blade-bowl work
The black CH3012BK is the small-batch chopper. Its official page calls it a four-cup chopper and separately publishes a 0.5 L working capacity, two speeds, four-layer QuadBlade and mayonnaise accessory. It lists chop, blend, purée, mince and ice-crush functions. Keep the model label separate from the stated working capacity when judging batch size. The manufacturer’s “up to 25%” comparison for QuadBlade is not an independent test, and a manual-specific ice or mayonnaise batch amount remains unverified because the linked guides could not be inspected.
Choose by tool and operating plan
For repeated slicing or grating, start with either FP model, then decide whether the 2 mm disc changes the answer. For a dedicated included dough tool, only FP3211SI lists one. For a small chopper and the listed mayonnaise attachment, compare CH3012BK; it does not have a feed tube or cutting discs. If top-rack care, a minimum flour amount, or a continuous run interval is essential, ask for the exact current instruction guide rather than borrowing from a sibling. The official support listings for FP3101BK and FP3211SI report no manual; the two CH3012BK guide downloads returned access-denied responses during this check. Unknown limits should remain a deciding constraint, not an assumed match.
