Two-package comparison

KitchenAid KFP0718 and KFP0719: two 7-cup tool sets

KitchenAid's two 7-cup processor packages share a bowl size and basic blade-and-disc work, but the Plus model adds a dough blade and a separate thick-slicing disc. That is a practical package difference, not a jump in capacity. Compare the tools you expect to use, then check whether the additional parts would earn their cleanup and storage space.

Choose KFP0718 for the standard reversible disc

KFP0718 includes a 7-cup (1.7 L) work bowl, operating lid, multipurpose blade and one reversible medium slicing/shredding disc. Its manual's selection chart identifies fine-to-medium shredding on the reverse side. For chopping, mixing or puréeing and occasional slicing or shredding, that may be all the equipment you need. The package does not list a dough blade or separate thick-slicing disc, so do not rely on a compatible accessory or a similar model to meet an included-tool requirement.

Choose KFP0719 when dough and thick slices recur

KFP0719 adds a dough blade and an independent thick-slicing disc to the same basic set. The manual's guidance limits yeast-dough recipes to no more than 3 cups (710 mL) of flour for best results, so treat the blade as support for modest batches rather than proof that the processor can knead any recipe. Its thick disc adds a second slicing choice; the reversible disc still handles its own medium slicing and fine-to-medium shredding tasks. The extra attachments are useful only if you plan to take them out, clean them and store their sharp edges safely.

Both have a two-piece pusher and a 2-in-1 feed tube. Manufacturer product pages describe a twist-free, one-click bowl assembly and in-bowl storage. The manual calls for the bowl and lid to be locked before operation, uses Low and High continuously and Off/Pulse for short bursts, and instructs the cook to use the pusher rather than fingers. Rated capacity is a comparison point, not a batch guarantee; the manual advises smaller working loads for chopping and liquids.

When a larger package is a better fit

If you want three distinct thin, medium and thick disc choices with a 9-cup bowl, compare KFP0919. If a whisk and refrigerator-storage lid matter more than extra disc choices, look at KFP0921. For dicing or a dedicated French-fry cut, read the 13-cup package comparison. Those are different supplied-tool sets, not capabilities to infer from the shared KitchenAid name.

For both 7-cup manuals, removable parts are top-rack dishwasher-safe with cautions: keep the bowl upright, avoid high-temperature cycles and dry parts thoroughly. Wipe the motor base rather than immersing it. Measure the appliance, handle clearance and feed-tube access for your own counter; the exact height was not confirmed in the U.S. materials reviewed for these two configurations. Start with the KFP0718 review or KFP0719 review, then use the finder for requirements that actually change your choice.
